What has been your course of action throughout this period to maintain and strengthen these ties?
Well, of course we we we employees to continue to produce and to deliver, to to solutions alternatives, sometimes in complicated situations, to generally meet the needs of our customers, and they us in are grateful, I believe.
But we have also taken thetime to reflect on the way we do and the way we are, to adjust our values, to redefine certain axes of our strategy with a simple guiding idea “ move from words toactions! “.
Environmentalawareness ,societalevolution and, ofcourse, innovation : it is notenough to say, it mustdo! We havetherefore undertaken some changes.
In environmentalmatters, by example, and after having renewed our certification FSC (FSC – C136002) which guarantees our customers that our products come from responsibly managed forests and supply chains, w e are proud toannounce that we have obtained certification ISO 14001:2015for our system of environmentalmanagement which commitsus to compliance with standards and drives us to manage our activities in an ecologically responsible way. Recyclability, circulareconomy , disposal waste, lifecycle ourproducts… we’ve beenworking on all thesethemes every day for a long time now, and we’re always looking for new ways to improve.
And since environmental awareness is a state of mind, we’ve applied it to our everyday life too! We have installed a fleet of bicycles for our teams to commute between the two plants (which they can also use to get to the village of Bromont).
More recently, we installed a binat compost for our lunchtime waste, and we regularly take part in local community actions… these are just a few concrete examples of how we can get things done, whatever the scale!
We also wanted to go even further in terms of innovation, which is the DNA of our group. Frédéric Froissart, our Managing Director, has just stressed the importance of collaborative innovation, and he’s right. Our future innovations are the reflection of joint projects. So, here too, we have taken action. Starting in the second quarter of 2021, we have created a monthly innovation committee that brings together all the company’s players: production, R&D, marketing, sales, external consultants… This notion of collaborative innovation involves giving everyone a voice . And together, we have no shortage of ideas! Connected packaging, antibacterial packaging, e-commerce packaging or even innovative food packaging… Imagine, the projects that emerge from the R&D drawers are sometimes buried too quickly. So we have to select, prioritize and give the green light or not! It’s all very exciting. We’ve even challenged ourselves to achieve sales of $250,000 by 2022 on a product that doesn’t yet exist! None of this would be possible without the investment and motivation of the CGP Expal Inc. teams, and we thank them sincerely.
The year 2022 will also see the creation of a Concept Center in Bromont. Based on our European Technical Center, we also want to create a place for exchanging ideas with our customers and suppliers. A showroom for our products, demonstrations and product tests, as well as a forum for exchanging ideas…. It’s all about preparing for the challenges of the future. Being as close as possible to our customers’ realities. Innovating, diversifying, involving, federating… this is what also motivates our teams and partners.
