STABUMAX® truck lashing mat
The STABUMAX® lashing mat optimises the lashing of loads in lorries or sea containers.
When transporting your goods, several forces come into play.
- These forces are linked to the movements of the means of transport:
- Acceleration, when starting up, a truck generates a force of 0.5G
- Deceleration, when braking (reverse acceleration), a truck generates a force of 0.8G
- Centrifugal force, when cornering, lateral acceleration is 0.5G
- Forces securing the load:
- The force of inertia, which holds the load in its initial position and counteracts vehicle acceleration, braking and changes of direction.
- The force of gravity
- The force of friction, which prevents or reduces load displacement. Its effect is influenced by the surfaces in contact.
When securing a load being transported, it is the dynamic coefficient of friction that is important, because loads move.
This force is expressed by the coefficient of friction µ (Mu).
The higher this value, the greater the resistance.
For example :
- The coefficient of friction of a plastic pallet on the wooden floor of a lorry = 0.2µ
- The coefficient of friction of a wooden pallet on the wooden floor of a lorry = 0.45µ
STABUMAX® anti-slip lashing mat has a coefficient of friction on all surfaces > 0.6µ
Placed between the load and the floor of the lorry, STABUMAX® Anti-slip lashing mat provides a better grip between the 2 products.
