Naseira, for the past two years we’ve been operating in a transport market that’s been heavily impacted by external factors. The raw materials market is exploding and transport costs, particularly for exports, are becoming a crucial issue for companies. How is CGP Coating Innovation responding today?
We’re still true to our DNA of providing support and finding new solutions, both in terms of products and process improvements. Our customers are constantly looking for new ways of doing things, new technologies, so that they can continue to develop despite these new constraints, and there is a particular interest today in finding an alternative to the pallet, but also in optimising transport costs, particularly for export.
The problem of wooden pallets, for example, has been around for several months. Supplies are becoming more difficult and costs are soaring. This is even truer for sea freight, which requires even more expensive fireproof pallets (ISPM15). The question of optimising space in containers is also becoming an economic issue.
For over 20 years, CGP Coating Innovation has been offering an alternative to wooden pallets, the Slipsheet Ecologistik. This is a Kraft sheet, eco-designed to support a palletised load. We have developed a very comprehensive range: different formats, with or without coating (anti-slip, water-repellent, etc.), different qualities in terms of resistance to adapt to each type of palletised product (crate, bag, big bag, etc.). This range is manufactured on our CGP Berry site from recycled and fully recyclable products. We can also offer plastic slip-sheet solutions for specific uses.
It’s no coincidence that major groups such as Bonduelle, BASF and Procter & Gamble have already adopted these solutions in their export processes, and it’s true that demand has been growing in recent months as a result of soaring costs!
Does this also make sense for bulk loading?
Yes, of course, and it’s even more relevant in this case, where many manufacturers still load containers manually!In this case, loading with Slipsheet makes perfect sense: less manpower is needed because only one operator is required, loading time is significantly reduced and loading is infinitely safer, with a much lower risk of accidents due to falling or damaged products, and operator accidents. Optimising space in our customers’ warehouses: storing 1000 pallets requires a lot of space, whereas storing 1000 Slipsheets will only require 1m3 of space! Slipsheets are an excellent alternative to pallets, which are becoming increasingly expensive, especially for export operations, and they also help to reduce our impact on the environment!

Before doing so, the experts at CGP Coating Innovation provide manufacturers with a free technical audit of their existing equipment, to validate firstly the feasibility, and then the overall solution for thelipsheet and the equipment. To validate our offer, we then propose a test phase, ideally on site, but we can also carry out tests in our Technical Centre with our experts.
Once these phases have been completed, we offer operator training. This is a phase that should not be overlooked if they are to acquire the necessary expertise and experience of the equipment required(Roller forks or PushPull).
