CGP EXPAL, Director for North America.
What has been your course of action throughout this period to maintain and strengthen these links?
Well, of course we we are employees continue to produce and to deliver, to to solutions alternatives, sometimes in complicated situations, to generally meet the needs of our customers, and they us are grateful, I believe.
But we have also taken thetime to reflect on the way we do and the way we are, to adjust ourvalues, to redefine certain areas of our strategy with a simple guiding principle: “ movefrom words toactions! “.
Environmentalawareness ,societalchange and, ofcourse ,innovation : it is notenough tosay, it mustdo! We havetherefore undertaken some changes.
Whenit comes to theenvironment, by example, and after have renewed our certification FSC (FSC – C136002) which guarantees our customers that our products come from responsibly managed forests and supply chains, w e areproud toannounce that we have obtained certification ISO 14001: 2015for our environmentalmanagementsystem which commitsus to compliance with standards and drives us to manage our activities in an environmentally responsible way. Recyclability, circulareconomy , disposal waste, lifecycle ourproducts… we‘ve beenworking on all these issues every day for a long time now, and we’re constantly looking for new improvements.
And because environmental awareness is a state of mind, we’ve applied it to our day-to-day business too! We have installed a fleet of bicycles for our teams to use on their journeys between the two plants (which they can also use to get to the village of Bromont).
More recently, we installed a binat compost for our lunchtime waste and we regularly take part in local community actions… these are just a few concrete examples of getting things done, whatever the scale!
We also wanted to go even further in terms of innovation, which is our group’s true DNA. Frédéric Froissart, our Managing Director, has just emphasised the importance of collaborative innovation, and he’s right. Our future innovations are the reflection of joint projects. So here, too, we have taken action. Starting in the second quarter of 2021, we have set up a monthly innovation committee bringing together all the players in the company: production, R&D, marketing, sales, external consultants, etc. This notion of collaborative innovation involves giving everyone a say . And together, we have no shortage of ideas! Connected packaging, antibacterial packaging, packaging for e-commerce or innovative food packaging… Imagine, the projects that emerge from the R&D drawers are sometimes buried too quickly. So we have to select, prioritise and give the green light or not! It’s all very exciting. We’ve even set ourselves the challenge of achieving a turnover of $250,000 in 2022 on a product that doesn’t yet exist! None of this would be possible without the investment and motivation of the CGP Expal Inc. teams, and we’d like to thank them very much.
The year 2022 will also see the creation of a Concept Center in Bromont. Based on our European Technical Centre, we also want to create a place where we can talk to our customers and suppliers. A showroom for our products, demonstrations, product tests and discussions of ideas…. It’s all about preparing for the challenges of the future. Being as close as possible to our customers’ realities. Innovating, diversifying, involving and uniting… that’s what motivates our teams and our partners.
innovation isnot a theoreticalconcept! We are putting intopractice.
With the support of the CGP Coating Innovation Group, we are pursuing our development for the benefit of all.
